Peter Papageorgiou was born in Ilford, England. He has lived most of his life on Corfu, following his parents' move to Greece at the beginning of the Seventies. His first contact with sailing was in 1984, when he skipped school to go sailing in a Carter 30 that belonged to a friend’s uncle. Around the same time, Peter's father got into the chandlery business in partnership with a friend. One thing led to another, and Peter found himself working at his father's shop from 1988 to 1992. He then worked as assistant base manager for a charter company based in Gouvia Marina, after which he rejoined the chandlery for a time. In 1998, Peter opened Boatman's World in Kontokali. Having acquired an all-around knowledge of yachts and yacht systems in all their diversity and complexity, Peter tries to keep abreast of new developments and is always interested in hearing about something new. It is his aim to provide his customers with excellent service, supplying the products they require for great sailing experiences.
